Well take a look on 2 pictures below:
When you add the motion at the ant layer, you will see there's one option 'Orient to path' appears at the properties section...
So my question is that, is it enough if one just ticks at the 'Orient to path' to make the ants movements look real OR is it one still needs to add more keyframe and adjust the position too?
If you can / can't detect the differences, please state here ok...
Another question, all this while we only used Pencil tool to draw the line/path thus the object can moves...Is it possible to make the line using Brush tool?Do you really think the ants can move along the path that being drawn using Brush tool?
If yes, why is it so?

ReplyDelete1st ques : Yes.sy dh try orient to path..cepat n mudah..xpyh add more keyframe..klu nk bt manual maybe leh guna keyframe..tp semakin byk keyframe,semakin besar saiz .fla kn..am i right?so,orient to path adalah 1 tool yg mudah,cepat n jimat masa..hehe
2nd ques : Yes.leh je guna brush tool.cuma path xberapa cantik n sharp je.ant juga dpt bergerak ikut guide yg diberikan.

Hehehe. I've tried too and here's my opinion:
ReplyDelete1. Orient to Path is the best solution for a smooth sailing path. It's great! Indeed Shikin, I also believe less keyframes mean smaller file size.
However, if the path is a severely crooked ones, I believe the animator still need to add a few keyframes to adjust the position so that the motion guide appears more realistic to its viewers.
2. It is possible to use Brush Tool to create the path line IF you have a steady hand.
For me, I prefer to use Pencil Tool instead as I trembled easily and missed the path at certain points and continued at a slightly different points.
This somehow made my ant to "lost" in its own nest and stucked at where I thought I accurately continued.
ermm, Norzie, you do agree with Ashikhin on certain points...but you do have your own opinion too...

ReplyDelete1. Orient to path banyak dapat membantu untuk kurangkan penggunaan keyframe tetapi ia tidaklah menjadikan pergerakkan benar2 smooth dan realistik...
Pergerakan awal cantik tetapi pada pertengahan dan akhir, kelihatan agak pelik..(semut saya dh macam mat rempit buat aksi kat jalan raya..hehe=P)
Bagi saya, perlu ada penambahan keyframe pada beberapa bahagian untuk hasil yang lebih baik n real..
2. Yup..boleh gunakan Brush Tool..Tapi bagi sy, adalah lebih mudah gunakan Pencil Tool..yang penting, pastikan garisan bersambung n tak putus..

anyway it's time to reveal who's the winner...
from above opinions, what I can say is that:
1. Good to Ashikhin, Norzie and Syakira as you can relate the concept of using keyframe and its effects towards file size...
The ____ keyframe use, the ___ the file size...
2. For the orient to path, actually it will only makes the movement of the ant looks real (just like how you want it to move) but NOT the ant itself...
Bayangkan sekiranya anda melukis gambar ant tersebut dengan kepalanya agak ke bawah sedikit...so semasa semut tersebut bergerak ke atas, suppose kepalanya mesti pandang ke atas juga kan...
but if you solely rely on the use of Orient to path then mmg tak ok la design tu as that ant still pandang ke bawah…tu yg kelihatan mcm mat rempit jugak tu…haha…
if you still wanna use only orient to path, (if you consider to have smaller file size) just be sure that masa nak draw that semut, make sure draw real sikit...heads up sikit…and it is important too on how you design the nest...
imagine first then baru draw ok...and lagi satu kalau lukis besar sikit baru akan nampak dengan jelas...
3. Untuk penggunaan Pencil tool and Brush tool, yeah semua nya betul…because in Motion Guide concepts, hence the name, the object needs to be given a ____ for it to be able to move...
You can use either Pencil tool or Brush tool or Pen tool...up to you...and the path should be draw at the ______layer...and it must be on top of ____layer
